This is one of the major economic activities in La Pampa, and it is the one that shapes its productive profile. The most important crops produced here are:

• Winter crops: crops that are sown from May to July and are harvested from November to January. The most relevant winter crop is wheat, but malting barley, oats, and rye are also included in this group.
• Summer crops: crops that are sown from mid-September to January, depending on whether they are cereals or oleaginous plants. The main crop sown is maize, followed by sunflower, soybean, sorghum, and peanut.
